Deity Hunting Menu, new Enemy Behaviour and many QoL updates
I've shown the games in many places: Copenaghen, Malmö and Lisbon. I've received a lot of nice feedback. But the game felt so confusing to people. And it felt so tiresome to explain the rules of the game, because there are so many mechanics. I understood that I needed good tutorials and quality-of-life improvements. Mostly because it's too tiresome to explain; and I can't be available at your home to explain (but you can always reach me out on Discord, will_dgd).
So, I've spent the better part of last month working to respond to the feedback. I hope the game feels more intuitive now, since there are many helping menu now. Namely:
1) In the Map, you can hover the mouse on Battle Nodes to assess which types of Enemy *may* show up on the Battlefield.
2) During the Battle, you can hover the mouse on Enemies to check their current stats.
3) During the Battle, you can check the Details of each Action when you click on the corresponding button. An additional HELP menu is there to give further context on the Action.
In other news, now you can go to the Café Menu and check the Deity Hunting Menu. You need to satisfy specific requirements to lure Deities out and fight them (and capture them). Now you can keep track of your progress
Finally, enjoy the revamped Enemy Behaviour. Now Enemies follow the Playable characters on the grid map. I can already set many rules for their behaviour. For the time being, they are going after your character with the lowest HP. So mean! But expect more variety in their criteria for Player targeting.
I've fixed a huge amount of bugs, worked on the graphics and polished the UI. I won't list everything that I did.
For the next update, you can expect: 1) more bugfixing 2) a new type of battle 3) improved graphics.
Please remember to comment with your feedback after you try the game. Feedback is like bees to honey for developers: they will be as obnoxious as possible in reminding this. Don't make me become obnoxious.
